我选择的演讲主题是《Navigating the Global Storm: How Students Can Shape the Future》。
Navigating the Global Storm: How Students Can Shape the FutureI’m Zeng Kuiming. It is a great honor to stand here and speak on the theme: “Strike the Waves.” As a sophomore majoring in International Economics and Trade, I see this phrase not just as a metaphor, but as a mindset—one that encourages us to push forward despite uncertainty, to navigate challenges with courage, and to shape our future with determination. We are living in a time of rapid global transformation. Political tensions, climate change, technological disruption, and shifting trade patterns are creating waves across the world economy. These waves can feel overwhelming, especially for students like us who are just beginning our journey. But I believe this is the perfect time to be bold. After all, calm seas never made skilled sailors. To strike the waves means to take action in the face of pressure. For students in international economics, this might mean analyzing the risks of trade wars, understanding supply chain resilience, or studying the impact of regional trade agreements. More than that, it means applying what we learn to real-world problems. It means learning not only from textbooks, but also from current events, internships, and cross-cultural experiences. The world we are preparing to enter is complex and interconnected. A decision made in one country can have ripple effects thousands of miles away. As future economists, analysts, entrepreneurs, and global citizens, we must develop not only technical skills, but also a global mindset. We must be adaptable, collaborative, and forward-thinking.Striking the waves is also a personal challenge. Each of us has fears, doubts, and moments of hesitation. But the only way to grow is to move forward—to keep swimming, even when the current pushes back. Every difficulty we face is not a reason to stop, but an opportunity to grow stronger.Let this be our generation’s attitude: not to wait for perfect conditions, but to rise in the midst of change. Let us embrace the unknown with curiosity, face difficulties with resilience, and move toward our goals with purpose. In this global ocean of opportunities and challenges, we are not just passengers—we are navigators. We may still be students, but we are already shaping the future. So let us strike the waves, forge ahead, and leave behind a wake that inspires others to do the same.
